Aromatherapy Massage

A massage can have a positive effect on the circulatory and nervous systems, the skin, muscles and fatty tissue, as well as providing a psychological benefit.

Deep Tissue Massage

This massage releases chronic muscle tension and helps to free trapped nerves, whilst relaxing and soothing muscles.  It can be particularly beneficial to athletes and people that perform repetitive work or suffer from stress.  Whilst it can cause short-term discomfort in some cases, I will set the massage at a level with which you are comfortable.

Smooth, heated basalt stones are used to massage and relax the body.  The benefits include improved circulation, increased lymphatic drainage and improved blood flow to tissues.  It is deeply relaxing treatment and reduces muscular tension, stress, anxiety and insomnia.

Cold marble stones might be used to reduce swelling or inflammation, to encourage circulation and rejuvenate.

Bamboo Massage

In this massage, bamboo canes of different lengths and diameters are used as a massage tool to give a deep, firm massage. The muscles are kneaded, which assist in the release of tension and easing of knots. This technique works in a similar way to hot stone massage and has similar effects to a deep tissue massage.

Myofascial Release Massage and Myofascial Cupping

MFR is a specialised treatment that releases restrictions within the connective tissue and involves sustained but gentle pressure to allow the fascia to elongate and restore to a healthy position. It is beneficial to everyone but can be especially useful to people with back/neck pain, poor posture, sciatica, fibromyalgia, physical and psychological stress and postural irregularities to name a few. The treatment can increase energy levels, restore muscle function, help balance the body, make you feel relaxed, “freer” and “lighter” afterwards.

Myofascial cupping is based on ancient Chinese methods of creating healing in the body through suction. It involves the application of decompressed cups on the skin, creating a vacuum effect that lifts up underlying tissues such as the fascia, muscles, blood and other fluid close to the surface of the skin. Main benefits of this treatment are increased circulation, increased joint range of motion, reduction of muscle tension, detoxification and increased mobility of connective tissues.
